My Letter to Shaytaan…
Dear Cursed One,
Over the years I’ve come to know you well even though I’ve never seen you. You try to be very tricky with antics that we humans consider immoral. You make people go astray and then laugh at them for doing so. You continuously harass people who try to live good lives and destroy their chances in the Hereafter. You gather a group of ignorant beings such as yourself who openly wage war against Allah. You may not know this (maybe you do) but you’re no match for the power and might of Allah. You fight a lost cause because you are weak. You prey on the weak like a cowardly vulture eating the remains of a dead animal which can’t fight back.
Your ignorance has led you to something other then bliss. You did not want to bow down when Allah commanded you to do so. Oh, how easily you forgot that Allah created YOU. You did not create yourself. Ignorance will be your ultimate downfall but you can’t see it because it works as a blindfold for the eyes of you and your followers. I salute you with the big “L” because surely YOU are the biggest loser.
You’ve taken my brothers’ and sisters’ away from me and for that I hate you. I hate you more then I hate anything else. You oppose Allah. Allah! He is the one that gave you and me life! He is the one that blesses us with mercy! Both of us depend on Him.
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only!
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him.
(Quran: Surah Al’Ikhlas)
I’ll give you one thing though. You are persistent. You continue to attack and attack until you either succeed or the Day of Judgment arrives. You knock on my door at all times of the day. Sometimes I let you in and I regret it later. You come into my house and eat my food. Sleep on MY bed. Play with MY things. The worst part is that I don’t get anything for it. You eat all my food until I have no more for myself. You sleep on my bed and make it untidy and dirty to the point where I can’t sleep on it. You play with my things only to break them so I can’t play with them. I don’t get anything for letting you in. Alhamdulillah, when it’s time for prayers, I remember Allah and I throw you out. But I know you will never stop knocking. Just know that I will never stop throwing you out.
I ask Allah, My Protector, to guide me away from you and to not make me those whose hearts are dead. For they are the ones that vultures like you feed on.
Audhubillahi minashaytaanir Rajeem,
Imran Abbas
Never say never
There’s always a chance.
Never forget that.

Allah’s Mercy compares to none, seriously…think about it
Everyday, every hour, every minute we are faced with decisions. One choice might make you feel good while leading you to ultimate destruction. The other choice may seem hard at first, but will lead to unimaginable joy. We humans, we’re not perfect and we make mistakes. So what happens when you choose the wrong thing? Is it over? YES. No.
Shaytaan will come to us and make us think that it IS over. He will make us think, “ I’ve sinned and sinned, now theres no chance to be forgiven. I might as well keep sinning.”
Tricky indeed.
Allah is the Most Forgiving, The Most Merciful. Most doesn’t even describe it. “Most” is a word that was created by humans. The amount of Allah’s mercy is out of the scope of ability to conjure any mere word. The hardest part is getting up and asking for forgiveness.
POEM.
Sitting there, hands raised to the sky
Asking yourself, “why?
Why did I transgress like this?
Ya Allah only by your forgiveness will I enter Eternal Bliss.”
Sitting there, hands raised to the sky
Vision blurred as you begin to cry,
Begging, crying for guidance,
The best of tears are those that fall in repentance.
What happens after we ask for forgiveness? We have to change our actions so that they reflect our regret. If I am repenting for talking back to my mother…I don’t ask for forgiveness and then yell at my mom thinking I’ll just ask for forgiveness again. True, Allah is the Most Merciful but what if your intention is not for asking for his mercy?
Let’s think about something we want to do when it comes to Islam. Whether it’s memorizing Qur’an, perfecting salaat, perfecting wuduu, or anything you want to make better. Make it something you’ve always wanted to but you have never been able to do it. Now…what’s stopping you? Nothing.
I pray that Allah forgive us all and lead us to the straight path. Ameen.
Welcome…
As salaamu alaykum
Repeat after me:
“Ashadu’Allah ilaha ilallah ashadu ana Muhammad’ur Rasoolallah.”
“I bear witness that there is no God besides Allah and that Muhammad (salalahu alayhi wasalaam) is the last Messenger of Allah.”
After Albert said that, he become our newest brother in Islam. Sitting in Shahnai, he was looking for answers of what his purpose in this life was. Every question was answered by verses from the Holy Qur’an or from the hadith of Rasoolallah. Question after question after question, the answers he received seemed to amaze him more with each response.
The reason people ask questions is of two reasons, they are confused and they want to know the right answer- or they want to stump you and prove you wrong. As Albert asked his questions, I remember him telling me that he was confused and he had no purpose. Then he took the Shahadah (Testimony of Faith, the first Pillar of Islam) and a couple of hours later, he closed his eyes and said, “Now..now I have a purpose.”
SubhanAllah, AllahuAkbar! How Allah opens the hearts of men and women and shows them the truth! What greater gift then this, besides Jannah, can there be? I remember reading about Malcolm X’s journey to Mecca and how he his eyes were opened up to the true call of Islam. No racism, no discrimination, no injustice. That’s what Islam is about.
I have seen two people in my life take Shahadah in front of me and both times the people said that they felt a chill or sometype of “cleansing” feeling run down their spine. Kind of reminds of the salaah in which our level of khushoo is very high. With that being said, hearing a non-Muslim take Shahadah gives you this feeling that can’t be described. It’s as if you are taking your Shahadah for the very first time. Major eman boost.
Sitting at the table he asked many questions, but the one that made him think was as follows:
” Okay Albert, so you believe in One God (Allah) and you believe that Muhammad (salalahu alayhi wasalaam) was the last Prophet. Ha ha, you do know that you’re basically Muslim, right? All you have to do is testify bro.”
“I don’t know, I feel like I want to read more into the Qur’an and gain more knowledge. I do believe in those things, I just want to make sure.”
“Being Muslim is about believing in One God and the last Prophet. That’s it. No memberships, no fees, no contracts. In fact, there are Muslims out there that haven’t read the Qur’an yet they are still Muslim. You could become a Muslim today and go home and read the Qur’an-If you don’t like it, you could leave Islam-of course this would be between you and Allah. But I can say with confidence that there isn’t a thing in the Qur’an that will make you want to leave Islam. Think about it, you walk out the door today, something happens and you die before you affirm what you already believe. If you’re ready, you can testify right now right here, no fees, no gimmicks. You up for it bro?”
“…Yes. I’m ready for it. Ash hadu Allah illaha ilallah, ash-hadu Anna Muhammadur-Rasoolallah….so wait, that’s it? I’m Muslim?”
“:D thats it. Come give me a hug man!”
Later on that night, we stopped by a local Starbucks to get some coffee and talk. My friend, Hasan, came running at me with the New York times in his hand. He showed me the front cover as it read (under the picture of a kid praying),
“More youth are turning to Islam to find purpose in their lives.”
It was an amazing feeling to see Albert’s face at that moment. He had just taken Shahadah and turned to Islam to have a purpose in his life and here was this MAJOR newspaper that basically not only captioned that picture, but also captioned our night. What was even crazier was the fact the Albert is from….New York. Subhan’Allah.
We’ll be bringing Albert around the local Sugar Land masajid soon insha’Allah, so all my local brothers try to give him salaam. That’s about the only thing he knows right now
Thats all I have for right now!
May Allah grant Albert and all of us with the knowledge and wisdom that will get us to Jannat’al Firdous. Ameen.
Walaykum As salaam.
Girl Power!
As-Salaamu alaykum!
Okay…so this one is for my sisters in Islam.
While working today, a customer came in and I helped them out with setting up some new lines for wireless service. They thought I was helpful and in return, gave my manager and I two free tickets to the Rockets game tonight against the Blazers. So I got off from work early and headed over to the game in my managers car. I talked to him about Iesa (alayhis salaam) and found out that he doesn’t really read much of his Bible. I reminded to read the Qur’an I gave him.
A few minutes into the second quarter, the lights went dim in the stadium and the big screens all around burst into red letters…
GET READY FOR YOUR POWER DANCERS!!!!!
Subhan’Allah…your Power Dancers. I mean, to not support something thats yours is…is..OUTRAGEOUS! and they say subliminal messages aren’t allowed anymore. Back to my point- when these half naked women came running out onto the court, I was looking around the stadium at all the men as they put down their food and drinks and stared at these women dance like vultures waiting for the lions to clear so they can eat their meal.
Look at the state of our society…women being judged on what they wear, how they look, how flirty they are. The truth hurts, yes it does. Women since the beginning of modern society have fought for their rights to be treated as equals only to disrespect and humiliate themselves. Subhan’Allah, the way some women dress shows how much love they have for themselves. Are we here to please the eyes of other humans? or are we here to please Allah and obey His every command?
I am proud to be Muslim. I am proud of the fact that while women from the western society have fought for equal rights for so long, Islam CAME bringing the rights of a Muslimah with it. I cannot even imagine the difficulties my sisters in Islam go through everyday they put their hijab on to please Allah. May Allah guide all of our Muslim sisters, clear their intentions, and reward them for the effort they put forth to obey Allah azza wajjal.
For one day, I would like to send our Power Dancers out there wearing hijab and observe the reaction of the crowd. Its sad to say that the reaction of that is what defines our non-Muslim society.
Besides that, its highly unlikely the big screens will read:
GET READY FOR YOUR DAY OF JUDGMENT!!!!
May Allah guide us all upon the straight path. Ameen.
Walaykum As salaam
It begins…
As-salaamu alaykum
Like the title reads…It begins…
It’s Jumah-so its only appropriate that a new Muslim blog pop up today.
You may ask…Why’d you name your blog Power Muslim?
Well…the answer is simple…Have you ever seen an epidsode of Power Rangers? They go around destroying bad guys while working as a team. They used weapons and “zords” to help them defeat the bad guys. Now here comes Islam. Imagine it- Muslims going around giving Dawah destroying the false images and stereotypes while working together as a group to help better mankind. Instead of “Power Ranger” type weapons, we have the the Qur’an, Sunnah, Salat, and du’a as our tools to help us out. First thing first, I call dibs on the White colored Ranger
On a serious note, as a Muslim it is our duty to spread the Truth and not be shy about it. Islam addresses every aspect of our life to help us out in the after-life. Whether you’re calling your friends to Islam or just going out to the streets…The Daw’ah needs to continue. I’ll post some tips I’ve gathered from experiences in the Da’wah field in a later post, insha’Allah!
It’s not my first time blogging, I used to blog as muslim.blog.com…slowly, but surely (insha’Allah) I will move all my posts from that blog to this one.
We are now at the end of the beginning which began at the beginning of this post.
Walaykum As-salaam
